The ground rules.

Aqvil (aqvil.com, the Aqvil Pastes browser extension and related services, together “Aqvil”) is operated by Its Hive, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Aqvil you agree to these terms, our content guidelines and our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your data.

If you use Aqvil for a business, you agree on behalf of that business and confirm you’re allowed to.

You must be at least 16, able to form a binding contract, and not barred from using the service under applicable law. We may refuse, limit or close accounts at our discretion, for example to deal with spam or abuse.

Give accurate information and keep your password secure. One person per account; businesses are run through business profiles with named members. You’re responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access to it.

You keep ownership of what you publish and save on Aqvil. So we can run the service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display and distribute your published content on Aqvil, in feeds, search results, link previews and share images, and to promote Aqvil with it, for as long as it’s published. Private content, such as pastes you haven’t shared, is used only to provide the service to you.

You confirm you have the rights to everything you post, that it’s accurate where it claims to be, and that it follows our content guidelines. When you import from LinkedIn or elsewhere, make sure the content is yours to republish.

Pastes are private until you turn on a share link. Anyone with a share link can open that paste (and its password, if you set one, is the only extra lock), so only share what you’re happy to be passed on. Shared pastes are screened against our guidelines, and we may turn sharing off for a paste that breaks them. Don’t use pastes to store other people’s sensitive data, passwords or anything illegal.

Only create a business profile or verify a website you’re authorised to represent. Verification shows that someone controlled the domain at the time; it isn’t an endorsement.

Job posts must be for real, currently open roles, describe them honestly, and comply with employment and anti-discrimination law. Applications happen through the link or email in the post: Aqvil isn’t a party to any hiring decision or employment relationship, and isn’t responsible for the conduct of employers or applicants.

• Break the law, infringe someone else’s rights, or post content our guidelines don’t allow.
• Spam, mislead, impersonate people or businesses, or manipulate views, rankings or reports.
• Upload malware or links designed to harm, or try to break, overload or get around the security of Aqvil.
• Scrape or copy Aqvil at scale, or access it by automated means other than our published features, except search engines following our robots rules.
• Use the browser extension or its API for anything other than your own pastes.
• Resell or sublicense access to Aqvil.

We may review, hide, hold for review, mark as not indexable, or remove content that breaks these terms or the guidelines, turn off paste sharing, and limit, suspend or close accounts. Moderation actions are logged. If you think we got it wrong, appeal by emailing [email protected] and we’ll take another look. Anyone can report content from the page it’s on.

If you believe content on Aqvil infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: the work you own, the address of the content on Aqvil, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorised, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you’re the owner or authorised to act for them, with your physical or electronic signature. We remove infringing content and close the accounts of repeat infringers. If your content was removed and you think that was a mistake, you can send us a counter-notice.

Mira and the editor’s writing tools use AI to suggest text and answers. Suggestions can be wrong: check them before relying on them or publishing them. What you publish is your responsibility, whoever or whatever drafted it. Don’t enter other people’s personal data or confidential information into AI features.

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to install and use the Aqvil Pastes extension with your Aqvil account. These terms apply to it in full. We may update it, and we may stop offering it.

Aqvil links to other websites and lets you sign in with LinkedIn. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we aren’t responsible for their content or how they work.

Aqvil is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we’ll tell you the price and terms before you’re charged anything, and nothing you already use for free will start costing money without notice.

The Aqvil name, logos, design, software and everything we create for the service belong to Its Hive, Inc. or its licensors. These terms don’t give you any right to use them beyond using Aqvil as intended. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

Aqvil provides a place to publish and be discovered. We make no promises about search rankings, traffic, leads, hires or any commercial outcome.

Aqvil is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don’t promise that Aqvil will be uninterrupted, error-free or that content on it is accurate. Keep your own copies of anything important.

To the extent the law allows, Its Hive, Inc. and its officers, employees and agents won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Aqvil. Our total liability for any claim relating to Aqvil is limited to the greater of US$100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

If someone brings a claim against us because of content you posted, your use of Aqvil, or your breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your profile is anonymised, your private data (such as pastes and Study marks) is deleted, and your published content is taken down and archived so moderation history stays intact; you can ask us to erase it under the privacy policy. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we’re required to by law, or if we stop offering Aqvil, and where reasonable we’ll give notice. The sections on content licences for already-shared material, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and disputes survive.

We may update these terms as Aqvil changes. We’ll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you by email or on the site at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Aqvil after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can delete your account.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and both of us consent to their jurisdiction. If you’re a consumer in the EU, the UK or another country whose law gives you mandatory protections, you keep them, including the right to bring a claim in your local courts. Before going to court, please email [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally.

These terms, the content guidelines and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Aqvil. If part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce something straight away, we haven’t given up the right to. You can’t transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business.
